As a former librarian, I understand tight budgets and limited resources, and have done my best to keep my fees reasonable.
FREE - Skype Visit (10 minutes of Q&A - class should be prepared/have read books in advance)
$450 - Half-day (2 large-group presentations + signing or 3 single-class presentations)
$800 - Full-day (3 large-group presentations + signing)
Add travel expenses if your school is more than 50 miles from my home. Audiences are usually one grade level, but two similar ages can be combined if the total number of children is 200 or less.
*Rates do not include travel costs, hotel, or car rental. Contact me - if you need to work within a certain budget. I can be flexible!
Once a visit date is confirmed, I will mail a free copy of my book to share with the students. I will also provide schools with flyers, detailed information about ordering books, and tips for a successful visit.
My most popular programs:
YOUNG AUTHORS WRITING WORKSHOP - (Grades 3-5)
In this popular session, I talk to students about my journey as a struggling reader, and writer, share an interactive story about the power of revisions, and introduce my Four Step Sure-fired Story Formula.
We will work on:
• Finding a good idea
• Adding imagery
• Using exciting words
• Make our own Four Step Sure-fired Story
I'll close the presentation by encouraging students to enter my Inky KIds Writing Contest, using my Four Step Sure-fired Formula. I'll return (at no additional cost to the school) and provide everything needed for a celebration lunch with your 10 best writers. The winning stories will be published on the Inky KIds page of my website under the school's name! Click here for a flyer about the Inky Kids Writing Contest.
THE INSIDE SCOOP - This presentation is suitable for all ages. I'll talk about the inspiration for each of my books, my writing process, and the fun, creative, sometimes scary side of publishing. **
WRITING NONFICTION - This presentation is suitable for large or small groups, grade 2 and up. **
**DEPENDING ON STUDENT AGE AND SCHOOL NEEDS,
PRESENTATIONS MAY INCLUDE:
WE EAT LOCAL, WE SHOP LOCAL, WHY NOT READ LOCAL?
